The Aero Modelers of Perrine (AMPS) Club first started in 1959 and has been active since that time. During the years we had numerous flying sites, which for one reason or another were eventually lost. In 1993 we decided to remedy the situation and purchased five acres in West Dade County. We then proceeded to build one of the finest flying fields in South Florida. It has two highly manicured grass runways; one running East/West and the other running North/South. Both runways are planted with special Bermuda grass. We have a 20′ x 30′ main shelter and four 10′ x 100′ covered pit areas.
If you are a beginner, we have several certified club instructors to choose from. Each has extensive experience working with new pilots and can make your transition to solo pilot as easy as possible. If you are an old hand at R/C flying, then come join us and enjoy the camaraderie of our members and our fine facilities. As a member of AMPS, flying instruction is FREE!
Although flying is limited to AMPS members, anyone can visit and enjoy the beauty of model aviation. Come in for a day of safe family oriented fun at South Florida’s Premiere R/C Club.
We look forward to getting to know you!
Our club has four levels of memberships: Adults (19 to 64 years of age), Juniors (up to 18 years of age), Senior (65 years and older) and Non-Resident (with permanent residence outside of Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe or Palm Beach counties). As part of all of our membership levels we offer extensive flight training to help you ease into the wonderful world of model aviation.
AMA membership is required for all flying activities.

|TREASURER : Roger Gonzalez
I’ve been building model airplanes since I was a child, my obsesión started when as a small child I would seat in a Coca Cola box and watched Waco YMFs and AT6s land and take off from Columbia Air field in Habana were may father was an enlisted soldier. I started building R/C model airplanes in 1979 and joined a local club. My second build was a 1/4 scale and I’ve been building giant scale ever since. I served as President of the 27th Aero Squadron R/C club for several years, and I’ve been an AMPs member since 1987. My other hobbies are photography and traveling.
|SECRETARY: Mark Armbrust
My father and I have spent most Saturdays together flying and sharing the hobby for the last 28 years. I have been flying Rc since 1990. Being from the joystick generation, I was essentially a solo pilot on the 2nd flight. The old guy that was teaching me got tired of landing for me after about 10 flights and the rest is history. I flew in my first IMAC competition when I was 13 and won Basic with my Sig Kougar. Over the next few years I taught many people to fly at Markham Park. Around 2010 I discovered scale Rc and fell in love with scratch building and flying giant scale planes. I have also found a home on RCSB.com sharing my builds with others from around the world.
